Final image.jpgJoin us for an insightful tour of the exhibition of artist L. N. Tallur, with Tasneem Zakaria Mehta, curator of the exhibition, and artist Sharmila Samant. Tallur's work delves deep into Indian culture, making witty and charged references to religious and political subjects. The exhibition features sculptures and room-sized installations that allude to the decay of traditional signifiers and icons, and to their uneasy integration with a world of industry, progress and development.
There is no better way to understand contemporary art than to hear insiders talk about it as you stand in front of the work itself. L.N. Tallur resides in both India and South Korea. Tasneem Zakaria Mehta is curator of this exhibition series, and also the Managing Trustee and Honorary Director of Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum. Sharmila Samant is a Mumbai-based artist, whose work has been featured in many different international exhibitions.
Please join us for refreshments at the end of the walk.
